Roger began his broadcast career in 1971 going to work for the legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Frosty Mitchell at KGRN Radio in Grinnell, Iowa August 25th, 1971. Barb was a Medical/Surgical nurse at Grinnell General Hospital until their first daughter, Angela Nicole was born on September 25th, 1973. At this time Barb became a stay at home mom. During their stay in Grinnell their other two daughters were born, Kara Suzanne and Amber Noelle. In 1982 Roger and Barb up-rooted their little family and moved to Estherville, Iowa where they purchased the Radio Stations, KILR AM & FM from Governor Robert D. Ray and the Dan Sanderson estate. Barb is in charge of the financial end of the business and Roger manages the stations and is an account executive, helping businesses tell their story to the KILR listening audience. In 1989 Roger & Barb purchased the Emmetsburg Radio station and then sold it in 1996 to devote all their time and energy to KILR. Roger and Barb still own the KILR stations. Their three daughters are married and have blessed them with three grandaughters and two grandsons. Roger and Barb say, "God has indeed blessed us greatly!" |
